InfoWorld recognizes the best open source software for business each year by handing out the Bossies (Best of Open Source Software awards) to a handpicked selection of open source applications.
InfoWorld’s mission with this award is to identify the most promising and cost-effective products available to IT organizations. On September 17th InfoWorld announced its list of 30 open source application winners. We are proud to share that Varnish Cache, our open source web application accelerator was on this year’s list. This is a great boost for the core developers of Varnish, the user community and of course Varnish Software, the guardian of the open source Varnish project.
For the Bossie Awards Infoworld rounds up the best and most active open source application projects, selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers. Other winners of this year’s Bossie Award are Nginx,Wordpress, Alfresco, MuleESB and Sugar CRM just to name a few of the great open source applications that received this honour.
When it rains it pours...awards
Varnish is on a roll as this is the third award nomination we have received this year. In April Varnish Software received the Red Herring Top 100 award where we were honored as one of the top 100 most promising private technology companies in Europe. And next month we will be receiving the Global Hot 100 award at a formal award ceremony in NYC.
We are proud to be receiving our awards and we acknowledge that Varnish is first and foremost being honoured thanks to its awesome community of users, core developers and loyal customers. A big thank you to all of you from Varnish Software!
