Amedia on Microservices Architecture at the Varnish Summit in Oslo

We are excited to announce a new addition to the upcoming Varnish summit in Oslo, May 7th. Norwegian Amedia, a loyal and engaged customer, will be speaking, represented by Simen Graff, the company's Head of Infrastructure and Jakob Vad Nielsen, Senior Developer.

Amedia is a valuable customer, not only for the obvious reasons, but also because they are very creative in their use of Varnish Cache Plus and actively contribute ideas to the development of our product suite, Varnish Plus.

Amedia’s talk, titled "Varnish everywhere: How Amedia utilizes Varnish as a component in their Microservices Architecture", will give you insight into how they have used Varnish as an integral part of their microservices architecture, why they needed to implement microservices architecture, why they chose Varnish Plus to scale it.

The need for scalability

Simen Graff Jenssen is Head of Infrastructure at Amedia Development. He started out with the company as a developer and is now responsible for its infrastructure and the related systems and solutions. He says his interest in microservices architecture sprung from the need for scalability in the company’s infrastructure. “The solutions we were using could simply not fulfill our needs anymore,” he says.

Amedia is a longtime Varnish Cache Plus user and a contributor to its development.
