In this post I will shed some light on Varnish Cache memory usage. In particular, we will examine the malloc storage backend and tune jemalloc for optimal usage.
In this blog post, I will go over how to configure Varnish Cache to act as a secured gateway for your Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 content. There are many reasons to use Varnish Cache as an AWS S3 gateway: caching, more efficient bandwidth utilization, centralized access with logging and security, or maybe just composing a virtual site across many different backend pieces, S3 included.
In the final installment of this series on managing dynamic CDN content, I will illustrate how Varnish Cache puts together the ideas of direct cache invalidation and TTL management to manage dynamic content. (Check out parts one and two of the series to get the whole story.)
