Varnish Controller 6.0 is here! This represents a milestone for Varnish Software and the evolution of Controller, our UI-based Varnish management and configuration platform. In our recent webinar with STL, From CDN to Edge Content Delivery: Quantifying the Big Opportunity, we received a lot of great questions from our audience about the nature of the telco edge, and what edge computing actually means. The edge is still a frontier space for many companies and raises a lot of question marks. Here we’ll try to dispel some of that mystery by answering some of the most common questions we get about edge computing and Varnish’s role as Edge Content Delivery Software.
Varnish Controller is our orchestration tool, built to manage Varnish Enterprise architectures of any size. Packed with provisioning, monitoring, and scaling capabilities, Varnish Controller operates on both Varnish clusters and multi-tenant environments. We’re continuing to improve this tool’s performance, flexibility, and ease of use with the latest update, Controller 5.1. Along with a comprehensive series of bug fixes and UI improvement, this update includes several brand new additions to Controller, including a host of new customization options for Traffic Router, the addition of debug headers for RoutingRules, and better graphs on the Controller dashboard.
